In the much-anticipated third episode of Haute Gold, Something Haute relived the magic of Mehreen Jabbar’s classic drama serial — Jackson Heights — which was aired in 2014. The drama became quite a sensation on television but like most Mehreen Jabbar dramas, it landed up in the list of must-watch Pakistani drama serials and people still continue to appreciate and recommend it even after six years.

Written by Vasay Chaudhry, the 27-episode dramas followed the lives of overseas Pakistanis and Indians living in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of New York City. Boasting of an ensemble cast that we rarely get to see on television, it featured stories of six characters played by Naumaan Ejaz, Aamina Sheikh, Ali Kazmi, Adnan Jaffer, Adeel Husain, and Marina Khan. Their lives are intertwined yet their journeys don’t seem to be overwhelming and tedious.

Jackson Heights

Jackson Heights is one of those TV masterpieces that will always be remembered for its exceptional storytelling, direction, and sound production value. Despite being shot both in New York and Karachi, we didn’t get to see any technical blunders of continuity nor we saw any changes in expressions. Every actor lived and breathed their character and it was a real labor of love, made with passion and artistic excellence.

And as any conversation about Jackson Heights is incomplete without talking to the forces behind the project, so we have also brought you exclusive interviews with Vasay Chaudhry, Mehreen Jabbar and Adeel Husain.
