After much hype, Padmavati’s first song, Ghoomar released today. Named after the traditional folk dance of Rajasthan, ‘Ghoomar’ is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Swaroop Khan.

With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming Padmavati featuring a similar grand affair as Ram-Leela, including the star couple Deepika and Ranveer, a comparison is only natural. While the song doesn’t feature the same upbeat rhythm of ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’, it is catchy in it’s own style. More traditional and classic in its tone and choreography, the song has hit almost ten million views in less than 24 hours!

That charm and dance moves didn’t come easily though, Deepika put in three hours a day of training for half a month to perfect her moves! It was reported that actress did as many as 66 twirls in the duration of the entire song while donning her heavy attire and jewellery. “The Ghoomar song has been one of the most difficult song sequences that Sanjay Sir and I have shot for… The shooting of Padmavati began with the Ghoomar song and I will never forget that day.”
